Wednesday, June 29, 2005 Niobrara County Library 6:30 p.m. Presenting... “Let The Church Say Amen”a film by David Petersen Fifty years since the Brown vs. Board of Education decision to improve the lives of people of color in American society, the rewards have yet to reach many residents of Washington, D.C. where that very court decision was made. Blocks away from the Capitol and White House stands a tiny storefront church, endeavoring to combat the street violence, unemployment, and homelessness that threaten American families living in poverty. Over the course of a year, this feature-length documentary by Academy Award® nominated director David Petersen follows four church members as they work to fulfill their dreams for a better life.
