Summer Reading Party Attendees
Summer Reading Party Attendees

Friday, July 14, 2006

Another season of summer reading ended this past week. Children that participated discovered the world of Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales through stories and crafts. Eight children attended the party and received prizes for meeting their reading goals throughout the six weeks of the program. The Hey Kids! program continues throughout the summer so children can still read for their goal and receive free swimming passes. For more information, stop by the library.

The library will host magician, Cody Landstrom on Friday, July 21 at 10:30 a.m., currently planned to be held on the library lawn. This program is suitable for all ages and promises to be a lots of fun and brought to us by the Friends of the Library.

The Foundation is sponsoring a raffle for a partially hand-stitched quilt and crocheted tablecloth. The squares are over 70 years old and were donated by Dorothy Keenan. Judy Hamaker and several other volunteers sewed the squares together into a quilt. Children's Librarian, Yvonne Jensen also donated a handmade crocheted round tablecloth that she made. Raffle tickets are available at the library and from several people in the community and the raffle is planned for early fall. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the endowment fund.
