Year-end reports for this past fiscal year showed an increase of 1,775 patrons over the year before and an increase of 4,149 items checked out over the year. Your library is being used! Have you been in and checked it out lately? New books, including fiction, non-fiction and large print arrive on a regular basis as do new media items such as DVD's, Books on CD and Books on Tape. All items can be placed on hold via WYLD, even new books on order! Watch for regional newspapers soon to be available at the library, these will be available as a result of the library funding amendment passed this year by the Legislature. If you haven't used your library card in a while, dust it off and stop by. You'll be glad you did.

The Foundation is sponsoring a raffle for a partially hand-stitched quilt and crocheted tablecloth. The squares are over 70 years old and were donated by Dorothy Keenan. Judy Hamaker and several volunteers sewed the squares together into a quilt. Children's Librarian, Yvonne Jensen donated a handmade crocheted round tablecloth that she made. Raffle tickets are available at the library and from several people in the community and the raffle is planned for early fall. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the endowment fund.

New books include "A Student of Living Things" by Susan Richards Shreve, "Cage of Stars" by Jacquelyn Mitchard, "The Englisher" by Beverly Lewis, "The King of Lies" by John Hart, "Fort Pillow" by Harry Turtledove, "A Simple Act of Murder: November 22, 1963" by Mark Fuhrman, "Perfect Pairings : A Master Sommelier's Practical Advice for Partnering Wine with Food" by Evan Goldstein, "For Men Only: A Straightforward Guide to the Inner Lives of Women" by Shaunti Feldhahn, and "The Gospel of Judas: from Codex Tchacos".
