Several family members of Lennea Lewis Slagle gathered in honor of an anonymous endowment gift to the Niobrara County Library in Slagle's memory. The children's portion of the library is now know as the "Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library."

Fall Afterschool Program plans are underway at the library. Yvonne is planning two programs again this year, Tuesday's for 1st and 2nd grade and Thursday's for 3rd through 5th grade. The programs will begin the week of September 4th and continue through the end of October. Registration will begin soon so watch for more details.
If you haven't signed up for the fall book discussion program, "Writing Wyoming" there is
still some room. The discussions are held the first Wednesday of the month for four months and the books are available to read through a grant with the Wyoming Council for the Humanities. The first book, "Deep West" is now in. Stop in to sign up.

Junior readers will enjoy "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane" by Kate DiCamillo and "Fergus Crane" by Paul Stewart.
Our youngest readers will be sure to like "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late" by Mo Willems.
"Back to School" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, August 22 at 10 a.m. Storyhour is held each Tuesday for children that are three through kindergarten.
