Storyhour children enjoy one last story from Children's Librarian, Yvonne Jensen before leaving.

Friday, November 3, 2006

The library will be closed on Friday, November 10, 2006 in observance of Veteran's Day. Regular hours resume on Monday, November 13, 2006.

There is a need for adoptive and foster parents in Niobrara County and the surrounding area according to Terry McDowell, District 8 Foster Care Coordinator, with the Department of Family Services. A recent program at the library prompted the decision to host Terry to speak specifically about foster and adoptive care during National Adoption Month. If you have wondered about being a foster parent or adoptive parent this is the program for you, or if you just want more information about the rules that govern these programs, plan to attend at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15.

Recent new books include "On Agate Hill" by Lee Smith, "A Christmas to Remember" by Thomas Kinkade, "In Every Flower" by Patti Hill, "Haunting Olivia" by Janelle Taylor, "Love, Lies, and Liquor" by M. C. Beaton, "Beyond Medicine: Exploring a New
Way of Thinking"
by Richard A. DiCenso, "Haunted Homeland" by Michael Norman, "Inside My Heart : Choosing to Live with Passion and Purpose" by Robin McGraw and "The Old Farmers Almanac, 2007."

New books for the young adult include "The Serpent Gift" by Lene Kaaberbol and "Kiss Me Tomorrow" by Susan Shreve.

Junior readers will enjoy "The People of Sparks" and "The City of Ember" by Jeanne DuPrau as well as "The Roar of the Crowd" and "Technical Foul" by Rich Wallace.

Our youngest readers will be sure to like "Little Rat Rides" by Monika Bang-Campbell, "Halloween Sky Ride" by Elizabeth Sparr and "Neighborhood Numbers" by Julie
Aigner-Clark.

"Children's Book Week" will be celebrated at Storyhour Tuesday, November 14. Storyhour is held every Tuesday from 10 to 11 p.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
