Plan to attend the film, "Spitfire Grill" on Wednesday, May 30 at 6 p.m. at the library. This presentation is the fifth of six films in the "Snapshots of Society" series and includes a light meal. Discussion will also be linked to participants at the Wyoming Women's Center via audio.
"Get a Clue" is the theme for the Summer Reading Program and registration begins Tuesday, May 29. Children that have completed the first through fifth grades are invited to attend this program which features a weekly activity hour that includes crafts, games and of course, books. The fun begins on Wednesday, June 6 at 1 p.m. and continues through July 18.
The library will also feature movies for children and adults each Thursday throughout the summer. Films will be shown at 1 p.m. beginning on June 7. Plans are also in the works for the annual Hey, Kids! program - this is a goal-based reading program for everyone - details forthcoming!
Newlyweds, Regan and Jack Reilly, are anticipating an idyllic honeymoon in Ireland in Carol Higgins Clark's newest mystery, "Laced" - these hopes are soon dashed by a series of perplexing events. Other recently added books include "Scattered Leaves" by V. C. Andrews, "Luncheon of the
Boating Party"by Susan Vreeland, "Skin" by Ted Dekker, "The Beach House" by Mary Alice Monroe along with a new western "The Silver Yoke" by Roland Cheek. New non-fiction includes "Two Minutes to Glory: the Official History of the Kentucky Derby" by Pamela Brodowsky, "Dogs of Windcutter Down: One Shepard's Struggle for Survival" by David Kennard and "Very Easy Patchwork: Simple Techniques, Beautiful Projects" by Betty Barndea.
New titles for young adults include the seventh installment in the Pendragon series, "The Quillan Games" by D. J. MacHale and "City of Bones" by Cassanda Clare.
New books in the Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library include "Atherton: the House of Power" by Patrick Carman, "Dogbird and Other Mixed-up Tales" by Paul Stewart, and "Gabriel's Horses" by Alison Hart. "Chicken Chuck" by Bill Martin and "Five Creatures" by Emily Jenkins are just a couple of new picture books available.
"Let's Go!" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 and Thursday, May 31.
Storyhour is held every Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. and repeated each Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
