The library will be closed on Monday, September 3 for Labor Day, regular hours resume on Tuesday including the new addition of Sunday hours. The library will be open from 12 until 5 p.m. on Sundays beginning September 9. Be sure to bring your family and check it out!

Border Lines, a new film series sponsored by the Wyoming Council for the Humanities will begin on Monday, September 10 at 6 p.m. with the film, "The Terminal." This movie humorously explores the plight of Viktor Navorski (Tom Hanks) stranded at New York's Kennedy Airport. A free meal will be provided and discussion will be facilitated by Deane Tucker, Associate Professor at Chadron State College and Cristina Colling. For more information call or stop by the library.

Ridley Pearson's newest thriller, "Killer Weekend", is in and as always, is a good read. Eight years after saving the life of an U.S. Attorney General from an assassination attempt, Sheriff Walt Fleming finds himself once again protecting the high-profile politician, now a presidential hopeful. Be sure to reserve this - it's a page turner! Some other new titles are "The Ever Running Man", by Marcia Muller, "Lean Mean Thirteen", by Janet Evanovich, "Drop Dead Beautiful" by Jackie Collins, "The Quickie" by James Patterson and "These Boots Weren't Made for Walking" by Melody Carlson.

"Running with the Devil: the True Story of the ATF's Infiltration of the Hell's Angels" by Kerrie Droban is new on the non-fiction shelf as well as "Nixon and Kissinger: Partners in Power" by Robert Dallek and "The Human Odyssey: Navigating the Twelve Stages of Life" by Thomas Armstrong.

Young adult books are currently being featured on display at the library. These titles are not only for young adults, adult readers may also enjoy them. A new title is "Someone Like Summer" by M. E. Kerr.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new chapter books "No Place for Magic" by E. D. Baker, "The Sea Monsters" by Rick Riordan, "Lawn Boy" by Gary Paulson and "The Homework Machine" by Dan Gutman. New picture books include "Chickerella" by Mary Jane Auch, "Pancakes for Supper" by Anne Isaacs, "Too Many Frogs!" by Sandy Asher and "Dadblamed Union Army Cow" by Susan Fletcher.

"Grandma and Grandpa" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 and Thursday, September 6, 2007. Storyhour is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.

After 24 years we are able to begin binding The Lusk Herald newspapers again, we are missing some issues in the time period of 1984 through 2003, if you happen to have any issues in this range and would consider donating them please stop by.
