We apologize for the outage of our website, hopefully everything is resolved now and service can continue without any interruption. There are other ways to access the online catalog and databases if our site is out so don't hesitate to contact us if this should happen again.

Over 150 children and adults attended the Rattlesnake Jake Back-to-School RIF program last week. Books were distributed and a good time was had by all. The Friends of the Library will be sponsoring three additional RIF programs in early 2008.

The first of five film discussions will begin on Monday, September 10 at 6 p.m. at the library. Deane Tucker, instructor at Chadron State College will be the local facilitator.

Be sure to stop in and enjoy a free meal, movie and discussion.

Wyoming's Big Read with "My Antonia" by Willa Cather is coming soon. Books will be available on Monday, September 17 at the library. Stop in to find out what everyone will be talking about!

A new fiction book for adults is "High Noon" by Nora Roberts. Attracted to talented police lieutenant, Phoebe MacNamera, who serves as Savannah's top hostage negotiator, Duncan Swift endeavors to become a part of her solitary life in both her personal and professional arenas. Other new titles include "Innocent Traitor: a Novel of Lady Jane Grey" by Alison Weir, "Mistress of the Art of Death" by Ariana Franklin, "Queen of Babble in the Big City" by Meg Cabot, "The Death List" by Paul Johnson and "Touching Stars" by Emile Richards.

New adult non-fiction books include "Psychic Children: Revealing the Intuitive Gifts and Hidden Abilities of Boys and Girls" by Sylvia Browne, "Cheney: the Untold Story of America's Most Powerful and Controversial Vice President" by Stephen F. Hayes and "The People's Princess: Cherished Memories of Diana, Princess of Wales, From Those Who Knew Her Best" edited by Larry King.

Several copies of "Harry Potter and the Deadly Hollows" by J. K. Rowling are available and "The Curse of the Romanovs" by Staton Rabin is also in for young adults.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new titles "Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos" by R. L. LaFevers, "How to Survive a Totally Boring Summer" by Alice Delacroix, "The Titan's Curse" by Rick Riordan and "No Talking" by Andrew Clements. New picture books include "Ellison the Elephant" by Eric Drachman, "Mama's Milk" by Michael Elsohn Ross, "Heat Wave" by Eileen Spinella and "Lucky Jake" by Sharon Hart Addy.


"What to Wear?" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 and Thursday, September 12, 2007. Storyhour is now held every Tuesday and/or Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.

After 24 years we are able to begin binding The Lusk Herald newspapers again, we are missing some issues in the time period of 1984 through 1999, if you happen to have any issues in this range and would consider donating them please stop by.
