This week marks the celebration of National Library Week. We did not specifically make plans for the week, however we encourage you stop by. Have you ever used or looked at the online catalog? We would be happy to 'take you on a tour' - be sure to stop in and see what your library can do for you.

Almost 60 children attended the final Reading is Fundamental (RIF) program last week. We extend our thanks to the NCHS Future Business Leaders of America for their dedication and help in making our program lots of fun each year. Thank you also to Children's Librarian, Yvonne Jensen for creating the programs and Friends of the Library members Karen Titchener, Joan Lenz, Zola Bolin, Linda Decker, Traci Bruegger and Cindy Cushman for bringing this program to our library.

New for adults is "Change of Heart" by Jodi Picoult. One moment June Nealson was happily looking forward to years full of laughter and adventure with her family, and the next she was staring into a future that was as empty as her heart.

Other new fiction books are "In a Time of Treason" by David Keck, "Someday" by Karen Kingsbury, "Ice Trap" by Kitty Sewell, "Dead Time" by Stephen White and "Christ the Lord: the Road to Cana" by Anne Rice.

New non-fiction includes "Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat?: an Easy Plan for Losing Weight and Living More" by Peter Walsh, "Chambers Dictionary of the Unexplained" edited by Una McGovern and "Time-Saving Gardener: Tips and Essential Tasks, Season by Season" by Carolyn Hutchison.

A new young adult book is the fourth installment in the Ranger's Apprentice series, "The Battle for Skandia" by John Flanagan.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books "Mayflower Treasure Hunt" by Ron Roy and "Andy Shane and the Very Bossy Dolores Starbuckle" by Jennifer Richard Jacobson.

New easy titles are "One Little Chick" by David Elliot, "Cherry and Olive" by Benjamin Lacombe, "The Searcher and the Old Tree" by David McPhail and "The Dragon's Gift" by Thomas Allen.

"Our Earth" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 and Thursday, April 24, 2008. Storyhour is held each Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.

334-3274 is the Dial-A-Story number. Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Dial in and hear an exciting story today!

After 24 years we are able to begin binding The Lusk Herald newspapers again, we are missing some issues in the time period of 1984 through 1994, if you happen to have any issues in this range and would consider donating them please stop by.
