We will be offering a class on using the library catalog and other online resources through Community Education. Some of the topics to be covered are how to search and use WyLD, the online catalog for all of Wyoming's county and community college libraries as well as some high schools and special libraries. Accessing the University of Wyoming's catalog, placing holds locally and state-wide, renewing and requesting notification of your favorite authors will also be addressed as well as local access to electronic resources, including full-text articles. If needed, some searching tips for internet research will also be included. If you would like more information be sure to give Eva or Claudia a call at 334-2733.
New books in the adult library include Oprah's Book Club Selection "The Good Earth" by Pearl Buck as well as "Dune: the Battle of Corrin" by Brian Herbert, "Ghost of a Chance" by Yasmine Galenorn, "Black Diamond Rendezvous" by Wyoming author John D. Nesbitt, "Invitation to Remember" by Elizabeth Adler, "Shrouded Insanity" by Jamian Snow, "The Faith of George Bush" by Stephen Mansfield, "Burgers Every Way" by Emily Haft Bloom, and "For the Love of Knitting" edited by Kari Cornell.
For the young adult, there is "The Choice," "The Talisman," "The Possession" by Lynne Ewing and "Diary of a Teenage Girl"by Melody Carlson.
Our junior reader's will enjoy "Free Again," "Golden Ghost," "Challenger" by Terri Farley and "Cindy's Bold Start"by Mary Newhall Anderson.
For our younger readers, there is "Henry and Mudge and Annie's Perfect Pet" and "Henry and Mudge and Annie's Good Move" by Cynthia Rylant.
"Spiders" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, October 19, 2004. Storyhour is held each Tuesday throughout the year from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m children 3 through kindergarten.
