Traditional and contemporary Bluegrass music will be featured in a concert presented by the Niobrara County Library Foundation on Friday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $10 and are available from any foundation member or at the library. "The Bald Mountain Rounders" hail from Chadron, Nebraska and the tight vocal harmonies of this group are sure to please everyone. Contemporary arrangements of bassist, John Shafer along with the down-home humor of Robin Smith (playing mandolin), the traditional sounds of country music which are sung by guitarist, Jack Honerkamp are rounded out by regionally acclaimed folklorist Norm Martin playing the five string banjo. This performance is supported in part by a grant from the WAC through funding from the Wyoming State Legislature and NEA, which believes a great nation deserves great art. Get your tickets today!

A new fiction book for adults is "Just Breathe" by Susan Wiggs. Sarah Moon had been tackling life's real issues with a healthy dose of sharp wit in her syndicated comic strip "Just Breathe." Then her so-called perfect life is turned upside down and all she can do is close her eyes....and breathe.
Other new fiction includes "8 Sandpiper Way" by Debbie Macomber, "Aztec Fire" by Gary Jennings, "A Tale of Luck" by Willie Nelson, "Home" by Marilyn Robinson and "Night of Thunder" by Stephen Hunter.
New adult non-fiction books are "Paint Can! Children's Rooms: Patterns & Projects for Colorful, Creative Spaces" by Sunny Goode, "Taste of Home Cookbook" edited by Jane Briggs and "The Migraine Brain: Your Breakthrough Guide to Fewer Headaches, Better Health" by Carolyn Bernstein, M.D.
A new young adult book is "Untamed" by P.C. Cast.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new chapter books "Bella the Bunny Fairy" by Daisy Meadows and "Ticket Trouble" by Carolyn Keene. New easy titles are "Race Against Crime" by Jake Black and "Heads or Tails" by Brent Sudduth.
"I'm Thankful for Friends" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 and Thursday, November 6, 2008. Storyhour is held each Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten throughout the year.
