Summer library hours begin on Monday, May 18, 2009. Sunday, May 17th will be the last Sunday that the library is open until September. Library hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday, Noon until 8 p.m.

The Friends of the Library have copies of their cookbook available for purchase. The book is $10 and features recipes that are the favorites of many community members and even more importantly are tried and true! Stop by and get your copy or a copy for a friend.

Jessy Sparhawk is collecting her gambling winnings in Heather Graham’s newest suspense novel, “The Nightwalker” when a man with a knife protruding from his back crashes into her - pinning her to the craps table. Before he dies, he whispers one word in her ear….Indigo. Sure to be a page-turner.

Check out these other new books: “Execution Dock” by Anne Perry, “Where the Heart Is” by Nora Roberts, “True Detectives” by Jonathan Kellerman, “A Quiet Flame” by Philip Kerr, “Malice” by Lisa Jackson and “A Love to Last Forever” by Tracie Peterson.

New non-fiction includes:“Out of Captivity: Surviving 1,967 Days in the Columbian Jungle” by Marc Gonsalves, “Go Down Together: the True Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde” by Jeff Guinn and “Always Looking Up: the Adventures of an Incurable Optimist” by Michael J. Fox.

“Wintergirls” by Laurie Halse Anderson is new in the young adult section and the Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new books “Who’s Your Mummy?” by R. L. Stine and “Joey Fly, Private Eye in Creepy, Crawly Crime” by Aaron Reynolds as well as “Pearl and Wagner: One Funny Day” by Kate McMullen, “How I Learned Geography” by Uri Shulevitz and “All in a Day” by Cynthia Rylant.

"More Pigs!" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 21. Storyhour is held on Tuesday and Thursday from from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
