The Friends of the Library will be hosting their Annual Book Sale and Ice Cream Social on Saturday, June 27. The Book Sale begins at 8 a.m. and the Ice Cream Social begins at 11 a.m. Plan now to stop by! Proceeds benefit a variety of programs and activities all year long.

The Disney classic “The Sword In the Stone” will be shown at the library on Thursday, June 18 at 1 p.m. the film is rated G and lasts 75 minutes. The library will provide the popcorn, but be sure to bring your own drink.

A new suspense book is “Long Lost” by Harlan Coben. Myron Bolitar receives a desperate phone call from a former lover, Terese Collins. She is a suspect in the murder of her ex-husband in Paris. Soon after he decides to help her a startling piece of evidence turns the entire case upside down, laying bare Terese’s long buried family secrets and the possibility that her daughter is still alive.

Other new fiction books include “Paradise Valley” by Robyn Carr, “The Last Quilter” by Jennifer Chiaverini, “Life Sentences” by Laura Lippman, “The Geometry of Sisters” by Luanne Rice, “Prayers for Sale” by Sandra Dallas and “The Perfect Poison” by Amanda Quick.

New adult non-fiction books are “Elemental Shaman: One Man’s Journey into the Heart of Humanity, Spirituality, and Ecology” by Omar W. Rosales, “Don’t Panic – More Dinners in the Freezer: a Second Helping of Tasty Meals You Can Make Ahead” by Suzie Martinez and “Liberty and Tyranny: a Conservative Manifesto” By Mark R. Levin.

A new young adult book is “The Graveyard Book” by Neil Gaiman.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new titles “Chicken and Cat Clean Up” by Sara Varon and “Curious George Plants a Tree” by Monica Perez.

"Dear Dad" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, June 16 and Thursday, June 18. Storyhour is held on Tuesday and Thursday throughout the year from from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
