The library will be closed on Thursday, November 11 in honor of Veteran's Day. Normal library hours resume Friday, November 12.
Mike Kohl from Clemson University Library presented an interesting program on one of the first dinosaur hunts in this area last week at the library. Attendees had the opportunity to view photographs and hear excerpts of the newly published book, "A Triceratops Hunt in Pioneer Wyoming: the Journals of Barnum Brown & J. P. Sams" by High Plains Press in Glendo. The book is available for circulation at the library if you would like to check it out.
New books in the adult library include "Death with an Ocean View" by Nora Charles, "Wormwood" by G. P. Taylor, "Paradise City" by Lorenzo Carcaterra, "The Witch's Tongue" by James D. Doss, "Trace" by Patricia Cornwell, "The Family" by Kitty Kelley, "Confessions of an Heiress" by Paris Hilton, "Drugproof Kids" by Frank Simonelli, and "Messiah's Handbook" by Richard Bach.
Our young adult readers will like "Mates, Dates, and Mad Mistakes" and "Mates, Dates, and Sole Survivor" by Cathy Hopkins, "The Lost City of Fear" by D. J. Machale plus "I Like it Like That" and "Because I'm Worth it" by Cecily Von Ziegesar.
For our junior readers, there is "Mustang Moon," "Dark Sunshine" and "Rain Dance" by Terri Farley as well as "The Price of Fame" and "Star Struck" by Mary Newhall.
Our younger readers will enjoy "We Love Baseball" by Peggy Harrison and "Exploring Space" by Toni Eugene.
"Children's Book Week" will be celebrated during Storyhour on Tuesday, November 16, 2004. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday for children age three through kindergarten.
