Monday, April 26 the film “Rear Window” will be shown at 6 p.m. at the library. A light meal will be served and discussion will be facilitated by Deane Tucker, participants at WWC will also participate. For more information contact the library at 334-3490.

The Niobrara County Library Foundation announced that Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be available on Friday, May 7 at 7:30 a.m. at the library. This is a fundraiser for the Wyoming Public Library Endowment Challenge and proceeds will be matched 3:1. Glazed doughnuts are $8 per dozen and mixed are $9, preorder by calling the library or contacting any foundation member.

A new fiction book is “Roses” by Leila Meacham. Cotton tycoon Mary Toliver and timber magnate Percy Warwick fell in love but unwisely never married. Now they must deal with the deceit, secrets, and tragedies that surround them - and, the poignant loss of what might have been, not only for themselves but also for their family legacies.

Other new fiction books include “Conspirata” by Robert Harris, “Fantasy in Death” by J. D. Robb, “Bone Fire” by Mark Spragg, “House Rules” Jodi Picoult, “Clean Kill” by Jack Coughlin, “Blood Vines” by Erica Spindler and “Treasure Hunt” by John Lescroart. New on the YA shelf: “Erak’s Ransom” by John Flanagan and “Forget-Me-Nots” by Amy Brecount White.

New non-fiction books are “The Elements of Investing” by Burton G. Malkiel, “I Am a Man: Chief Standing Bear’s Journey for Justice” by Joe Starita, “Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America” by Peter Biskind and “No Apology: the Case for America’s Greatness” by Mitt Romney.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new titles: “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon” by Gracie Lin, “The Batboy” by Mike Lupica and “Daring to Dream” by Suzanne Wyn; also available is “Mother Earth and Her Children” by Sibylle Von Olfers.

"Cats and Kittens" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, April 27 and Thursday, April 29. This weekly program is held from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
