The Friends of the Library will be holding their annual Book Sale and Ice Cream Social on Saturday, June 26. The book sale begins at 8 a.m. and the Ice Cream Social begins at 11 a.m., both events will be held on the library lawn. Plan now to stop by.

Tickets are now available for the library foundation’s Annual No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournament to be held Saturday, July 10 during the Legend of Rawhide weekend. Tickets are $35 for the initial buy-in and are available at the library. Re-buys and add-ons are extra. A new thriller is “Out of Mind” by Stella Cameron. Willow Millet has long denied her family’s psychic legacy; and no wonder, her particular gift allows her to see and feel the pain of others. She has buried herself in the real world, concentrating on building her own business until a string of bizarre and fatal accidents force her to confront an old flame – an enigmatic man who shares her paranormal talents and who fills her with desires impossible to ignore.

Other new fiction books include “Laughed ‘Til He Died” by Carolyn Hart, “The 9th Judgment” by James Patterson, “Shameless” by Karen Robards, “Long Way Home” by Robin Pilcher, “The Killing Edge” by Heather Graham and “Not a Rustler” by John D. Nesbitt. New on the YA shelf are “Palace Beautiful” by Sarah DeFord Williams and “Morpheus Road” by D. J. MacHale.

“No One Would Listen: a True Financial Thriller” by Harry Markopolos is now available along with these non-fiction titles: “This Time Together: Laughter and Reflection” by Carol Burnett and “Saddled: How a Spirited Horse Reined Me In and Set Me Free” by Susan Richards.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new titles: “Alchemy and Meggy Swann” by Karen Cushman and “The Case of the Secret Weapon” by John R. Erickson. Also ready for checkout are “Herbert: the True Story of a Brave Sea Dog” by Robyn Belton, “Todd’s T.V.” by James Proimos and “Rumble, Roar, Dinosaur” by Tony Mitton.

"Bubble Fun" is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 24. This weekly program is held from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten throughout the year. The movie, "Where the Wild Things Are" will be shown on Thursday, June 24 at 1 p.m.
