Do you have an e-reader? The library is exploring ways that we can help you borrow or obtain books for your reader, there are limits with licensing and statewide this is an issue that is being looked at; locally we want to know what would work for our community. RIF (Reading is Fundamental) will be held at the library on Wednesday, February 9 at 6:30 p.m. The book, Fritz and the Beautiful Horses will be celebrated with a puppet show and activity time. Children will all have the opportunity to select their very own book to keep! This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

February 9 the library will show the film, “The Black Stallion” at 2 p.m. This film is rated G and 118 minutes. For more information contact the library.

Cowgirl poet, Rhonda Sedgwick Stearns will perform at the library on Wednesday, February 16 at 6:30 p.m. Plan now to attend this free program!

The winner of the 2010 Man Booker Prize is “The Finkler Question” by Howard Jacobson. This novel follows many paths of enquiry, including the present state of Jewish identity in Britain and how it integrates with the Gentile population. At the heart of the book is Julian, the wannabe Jew, a comic creation precisely because he is so tragically touching in his haplessness.

Other new fiction books include “Sarah’s Choice” by Wanda E. Brunsetter, “Fame” by Daniel Kehlmann, “Night of the Vampires” by Heather Graham, “The Ticket” by Wyoming author, Karen Schutte, “Buy Back” by Brian M. Wiprud, “Magnolia” by Diana Palmer and “Secrets to the Grave” by Tami Hoag. “Blue Moon” by Alyson Noel is now available in the Young Adult section.

New adult non-fiction books are “The Killing of Crazy Horse” by Thomas Powers, “45 Quilt Blocks: Flowers: a New Collection of Designs” by Tracy Boerens, “Harmony: a New Way of Looking at Our World” by HRH, the Prince of Wales and “The Journey of the James G. Willie Handcart Company: October 1856” by Wyoming author, Gary Duane Long.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new books by Jake Maddox: “Batter Up”, Full Court Dreams” and “Win or Lose” as well as “Reality Check” by N.B. Grace. New books for the new reader include “The Boy Who Carried the Flag” by Jana Carson, “The Ruby Rose Show” by Sindy McKay and “Robot Man” by Paul Orshoski.
