“Heartwood” is the late Belva Plain’s last novel. Though Iris Stern, nearing 80, considers herself a modern woman with a successful academic career and a happy marriage she holds steadfast to her old fashioned sensibilities. But it’s an emotional parting of another kind that looms most prominently on her horizon. This book can be reserved by calling the library or using the online catalog.
