It’s a MAGIC SHOW! coming Tuesday, July 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the library! Cody Landstrom makes a return trip to Lusk and will be entertaining children of all ages. For more information contact the library at 334-3490.

Thursday, July 19, workaholic Dave Douglas finds his non-stop work schedule catapulted into chaos when he is accidentally infected with a genetic mutation serum in “The Shaggy Dog.” He turns from dad to dog without warning in this comedy for the whole family. Showing at 1:30 p.m. the popcorn is on us, bring your own beverage - rated PG, 98 minutes.

One of our newer titles is “Porch Lights” by Dorothea Benton Frank. When her husband is killed in the line of duty, Jackie McMullen and her son, Charlie, return to her childhood home on Sullivan’s Island. There the family matriarch, Annie Britt, has the porch lights on to welcome her daughter and her grandson home to the healing power of family and the sharing of a memorable and illuminating summer.

Other new fiction books are “Unnatural Acts” by Stuart Woods, “The Scent of Cherry Blossoms” by Cindy Woodsmall, “The Watchers” by Jon Steele, “Into the Dreaming” by Karen Marie Moning, “A Blaze of Glory” by Jeff Shaara, “Touching the Sky” by Tracie Peterson, “Jack of Ravens” by Mark Chadbourn and “Beautiful Sacrifice” by Elizabeth Lowell. “Birthmarked” by Caragh M. O’Brien and “Insurgent” by Veronica Roth are now available on the YA shelf.

New non-fiction include “Dream New Dreams: Reimaging My Life after Loss” by Jai Pausch, “South Pass City and the Sweetwater Mines” by Jon Lane and “Cemetery John: the Undiscovered Mastermind of the Lindbergh Kidnapping” by Robert Zorn.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new titles: “School of Mischief” by Sue Bentley, “The Princess & the Frog: Tiana’s Dream” by Barbara Bazaldua and “I Survived the Bombing of Pearl Harbor, 1941” by Lauren Tarshis. New picture books include “Plant a Kiss” by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, “The Messy One” by Christianne Jones and “Lucille Gets Jealous” by Julie Gassman.
