Wednesday, January 15 the film, Despicable Me 2 will be shown at the library at 1:45 p.m. This film is rated PG and 98 minutes. Gru is recruited by the Anti-Villain League to help deal with a powerful new super criminal in this sequel to the popular Despicable Me. The library provides the popcorn, bring your own drink.

While on vacation with their parents, Matthew Homes and his older brother, Simon, snuck out in the middle of the night – but only Matthew came back in Nathan Filer’s “Where the Moon Isn’t.” Now, ten years later, Matthew says he has found a way to bring Simon back.

Other new fiction books include “Amanda Weds a Good Man” by Naomi King, “Even Now” by Karen Kingsbury, “This Matter of Marriage” by Debbie Macomber, “The Winter Warrior” by James Wilde, “The Double Wedding Ring” by Clare O’Donohue, “Dead of Night” by Charlaine Harris, “Foreplay” by Sophie Jordon and “War in Lincoln County” by Dane Coolidge. Margaret Peterson Haddix’s newest young adult novel is “Full Ride.”

New non-fiction books are “A House in the Sky: a Memoir” by Amanda Lindhout, “Band of Angels: the Forgotten World of Early Christian Women” by Kate Cooper, “Hero” by Rhonda Bryne and “Things That Matter: Three Decades of Passions, Pastimes, and Politics” by Charles Krauthammer.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books “Nacrene City Adventures” by Simcha Whitehall and “The Extra” by Kathryn Lasky. Some new easy titles are “The Guardian Team: On the Job with Rena and Roo” by Cat Urbigkit and “Engine Nine, Feeling Fine” by Bill Scollon.
