"The Quest for the Junkyard Dragon" puppet show coming in March

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

"The Quest for the Junkyard Dragon" featuring puppeteer Markie Scholz will be presented at the Niobrara County Library on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. "The Quest for the Junkyard Dragon" is sponsored by the Friends of the Library as a Reading is FUN (RIF) program. Markie Scholz creates an event that looks and feels life-size with puppets ranging from six inches to six feet in size. The "Quest for the Junkyard Dragon" is a delight for young and old.

Dragons, trolls, witches, screaming meemies and others hassle Sharn, our heroine. Each helps or hinders her journey to find the Junkyard Dragon. Then, and only then, can she regain her place in the kingdom. During this fifty minute journey, Sharn must build friendships and escape the evil forces who try to keep her from Skavang, the dragon who shuns humans but collects their trash. The script is written with a great deal of dry humor to entertain adults as well as children. "I love fantasy." says Scholz, "In it, good and evil come clothed in all sorts of strange and wonderful shapes and sizes."
