The second of three RIF programs will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. The book, "Feathers for Peacock" by Jacqueline Jules will be presented as a skit by FBLA members, a fun craft is in store and of course all of the children will be able to select their very own book to keep. RIF is sponsored by the Friends of the Library with a third program to be held on Wednesday, April 12 with "Wayne and Wingnut." "LegoTime" begins at the library on Tuesday, March 7 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., this is an open enrollment program for children (and adults) to just stop by and create! There will be some fun challenges, the opportunity to use the Lego wall and maybe even a prize or two.

"The Rising" is Heather Graham's newest novel. Alex Chin is a football hero and Homecoming King with plenty of scholarship offers. His tutor, Samantha Dixon, is planning to graduate at the top of her class. Then a football accident lands Alex in the hospital. His doctor is murdered – then his parents, and now they are after him. Alex and Samantha try to figure out who the attackers are. The answer lies with a secret buried deep in the past - a secret his parents died to protect. The book is also available in audio form through the Virtual Library (use the Overdrive Media Console app).

Other new fiction books are “The Phantom Riders" by Leslie Scott, "The Big Empty" by Jim Jones, "Wyoming Brave" by Diana Palmer, "The Sleepwalker" by Chris Bohjalian, "Behind the Throne" by K.B. Wagers, "The Protector" by Donna Grant, "Ring of Fire" by Brad Taylor, "Hard Way Out of Hell" by Johnny D. Boggs and "A Spiced Apple Winter" by Emma Cane. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: the Original Screen Play" by J.K. Rowling and "The Conjurer's Riddle" by Andrea Cremer are among new YA titles.

New non-fiction titles are "Let Me Tell You About Jasper: How My Best Friend Became America's Dog" by Dana Perino and "Whole Cooking and Nutrition: an Everyday Superfoods Approach to Planning, Cooking, and Eating with Diabetes" by Katie Cavuto.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books, "A Long Pitch Home" by Natalie Dias Lorenzi, "US Special Forces: Ghosts of the Night" by Matthew K. Manning and "Wildfire" by Sable Hamilton. Several of the new easy titles include "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins, "How to Track a Truck" by Jason Carter Eaton and "Nanette's Baguette" by Mo Willems.
