Magician Cody Landstrom returns to the library on Monday, July 17 at 3 p.m. There will be magic and entertainment for all ages so be sure to stop by!


“Spark, a Space Tail” will be the featured movie on Thursday, July 20 at 1 p.m. The 90 minute PG film is the story of a teen monkey who pledges to defeat the warlord who destroyed his home planet and wiped out his family. With the help of his friends, a brilliant warthog and a tough-as-nails fox, he sets out to stop the super villain before he unleashes the power of a monster. The library provides the popcorn; please bring your own drink.


Hoopla Digital recently announced an eBook content agreement with one of the top publishers, HarperCollins, adding more than 15,000 titles of some of your favorite authors. Hoopla Digital features over 600,000 titles in various formats that are available with your library card and pin giving you access to create an account. There is no waiting to borrow eBooks, audio books, movies, music, or graphic novel titles on hoopla digital since on-demand content can be enjoyed by multiple patrons simultaneously. Niobrara County Library patrons can borrow up to 40 items per month with their library card. Check it out today and don’t hesitate to call or stop by the library for more information.


Richard Paul Evans newest novel is “The Broken Road.” At night, Chicago celebrity Charles James dreams of seeing himself walking down a long broken highway where the sides are lit by flames. Coming from a childhood of poverty and pain, he has all he ever wanted – fame, fans and fortune. His wealth came legally but questionably. When he learns that one of his customers committed suicide because of financial ruin, Charles is shaken and begins to question everything he’s done. Then a twist of fate grants him a second chance.

Holaday, “New Boy” by Tracy Chevalier, “No Middle Name” by Lee Child, “The Beloved Hope Chest” by Amy Clipston, “Since We Fell” by Dennis Lehane, “Come Sundown” by Nora Roberts and “Testimony” by Scott Turow. Rick Riordan’s new title, “The Dark Prophecy” is now available in the YA section.


“Apollo 8: the Thrilling Story of the First Mission to the Moon” by Jeffrey Kluger joins “George Washington’s Virginia” by John R. Maass and “Love and Money: Protecting Yourself From Angry Exes, Wacky Relatives, Con Artists, and Inner Demons” by Ann-Margaret Carrozza on the new non-fiction shelf.


The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books : “The Unbreakable Code” by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman, “The Door in the Alley” by Adrienne Kress and “American Girl: Tenney Shares the Stage” by Kellen Hertz. Some of the newer easy books are “Grandma is a Slowpoke” by Janet Halfmann, “Why Did the Farmer Cross the Road” by Brooke Herter James and “Noisy Night” by Mac Barnett.


“Wind and Rainstorms!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for children age 3 through kindergarten. Call 334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story. Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
