“Beartown” is a new novel by Fedrick Backman. People say Beartown is finished. A tiny community nestled deep in the forest; it is slowly losing ground in the ever-encroaching trees. Down by the lake stands an old ice rink, build generations ago. That ice rink is the reason people in Beartown believe tomorrow will be better than today. Their junior ice hockey team actually has a chance of winning the national semi-finals. Being responsible for the hopes of an entire town is a heavy burden and the semi-final match is the catalyst for a violent act that leaves a young girl traumatized and a town in turmoil.

Johnstone, “The Perfect Mother” by Aimee Molloy, “How It Happened” by Michael Koryta, “An Unsuitable Match” by Joanne Trollope, “Alter Ego” by Brian Freeman, “The Other Lady Vanishes” by Amanda Quick, “King of Ashes” by Raymond E. Feist, “The High Tide Club” by Mary Kay Andrews and “Robert B. Parker’s Old Black Magic” by Ace Atkins. “Inferno” is the newest young adult book by Julie Kagawa and is now available.
