The Friends of the Library will host their annual Homemade Christmas Cookie and Candy Sale on Wednesday, December 5 beginning at 3 p.m. Cookies and candies are purchased by the pound and you can make your own selections. There will also be some pre-made plates and homemade soup and bread will also be available for purchase.

One of our newer holiday books is “Christmas Sisters” by Sarah Morgan. In the snowy highlands of Scotland, Suzanne McBride is dreaming of the perfect Christmas. Her three adopted daughters are coming home for the holidays, and she can’t wait to see them. However, tensions are running high with the girls and she must rely on the magic of the season to bring her daughters together.

Other new holiday titles are “Season of Wonder” by RaeAnne Thayne, “Alaskan Holiday” by Debbie Macomber, “Murder for Christmas” by Francis Duncan, “Mistletoe Miracles” by Jodi Thomas, “A Tall, Dark Cowboy Christmas” by Maisy Yates, “Hot Winter Nights” by Jill Shalvis, “One Day in December” by Josie Silver and “Snowbound at Christmas” by Debbie Mason. “Wildcard” by Marie Lu and “Give the Dark My Love” by Beth Revis are among new YA titles.

Tim Tebow’s new book, “This is the Day: Reclaim Your Dream, Ignite Your Passion, Live Your Purpose” is now available along with “Noncompliant: a Lone Whistleblower Exposes the Giants of Wall Street” by Carmen Segarra.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior titles, “A Nancy Drew Christmas” by Carolyn Keene, “Bounce Back” by Hena Khan and “The Secret Invention” by Thea Stilton. A few of the newer easy books are “Pumpkin Contest” by Meredith Rusu, “Christmas Wishes” by Maggie Testa, “Santa Bruce” by Ryan T. Higgins and “How to Catch a Turkey” by Adam Wallace.

“Reindeer Fun!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday for children age 3 through kindergarten. Call 334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story. Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
