The film, “Oceans of Grass” will be shown at the library on Monday, January 28 at 6 p.m. “Oceans of Grass” is an experiential, immersive documentary capturing a year in the life of a 130-year-old Nebraska Sandhills ranch. The film narrative is provided by the ranchers who have called this area home for generations and the Sandhills people are shown with unhindered realism. The project was created by first-time filmmaker Georg Joutras. A light meal will be served.

“Goosebumps 2” will be the featured Early Release film on Friday, January 25 at 1:35 p.m. The library provides the popcorn; please bring your own drink.

Have you stopped in to view the art on display from Niobrara County School District middle and high school students? The show will be available through January 31 and features a variety of acrylic, watercolor and pencil pieces. Photographer, Hailey Bruegger’s work will be featured during the month of February; plan to attend the artist reception on Wednesday, February 3 at 5 p.m.

“Blame” is the title of Jeff Abbott’s newest book. Two years ago, Jane Norton crashed her car on a lonely road, killing her friend, David, and leaving her with amnesia. At first everyone was sympathetic. Then they found Jane’s note – “I wish we were dead together.” From that day on the town turned against her. Why were they on that road? Why was she with David? Did she really want to die? Most of all she must find out who had just written her an anonymous message: “I know what really happened. I know what you don’t remember.” “Blame” is also available as an audiobook through Overdrive/Libby.

Other new fiction books include “Storm Rising” by Sara Driscoll, “Eggs on Ice” by Laura Childs, “The Ox That Gored” by James D. Crownover, “Night of Miracles” by Elizabeth Berg, “Of Blood and Bone” by Nora Roberts, “Sea of Greed” by Clive Cussler, “Oh My Stars” by Sally Kilpatrick, “The Bride of Ivy Green” by Julie Klassen and “Tom Clancy Oath of Office” by Marc Cameron. A new title for the young adult is “Fury,” the third book in the “Menagerie” series by Rachel Vincent.

New nonfiction books are “How to Speak Science: Gravity, Relativity, and Other Ideas Tht Were Crazy Until Proven Brilliant” by Bruce Benamran, “Farewell, My Orange” by Iwaki Kei and “The Little Book of Goat Yoga: Poses and Wisdom to Inspire Your Practice” by Lainey Morse.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books, “Dog Diaries” by James Patterson and “Everlasting Nora” by Marie Miranda Cruz. Some of the more recent easy titles are “The Gift That I Can Give” by Kathy Lee Gifford, “Grow Up, David!” by David Shannon, “The Only Way is Badger” by Stella J. Jones and “Even Superheroes Make Mistakes” by Shelly Becker.
