Thursday, April 25 at 2 p.m. author, Carol Deering will be at the library to discuss her book of Wyoming poetry, “Havoc & Solace.” Carol will read portions of her book and entertain questions about poetry and writing in general. Plan to attend!

The final film in the “@ the Oscars” Dinner and Movie series is the 2018 best picture and best director movie, “The Shape of Water” which will be shown on Monday, April 29 at 6 p.m. A light meal will be available.

“Family Fun” is the focus on Wednesday, May 1 when Wyoming’s children’s author and Poet Laureate, Eugene Gagliano, will present a fun-filled program for families and all ages at the library at 6 p.m. Known by many as the teacher who dances on his desk Gagliano is entertaining and informative. He has authored several children’s books including “Dee and the Mammoth,” “C is for Cowboy,” and “Little Wyoming.” Plan to attend!

“Finding Dorothy” is a new novel by Elizabeth Letts that is closely based on the truth. In 1938 MGM is adapting the L. Frank Baum’s “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and his wife, Maud, is the only one left who knows all the secrets. Judy Garland reminds Maud of a young girl in South Dakota, and she resolves to help Judy the way she tried to help the real Dorothy. The ebook for “Finding Dorothy” is available in Overdrive as well as digital audio. Your library card number and PIN give you access.

Other new fiction books are “Knight’s Odyssey: the Return of Henry Fountain” by W. Michael Farmer, “Return to Whispering Pines” by Scarlett Dunn, “The Kitchen Marriage” by Gina Welborn, “So Pretty a Problem” by Francis Duncan, “The Devil’s Daughter” by Lisa Kleypas, “The Heavens” by Sandra Newman, “Angels of North Country” by T. Owen O’Connor, “A Justified Murder” by Jude Deveraux and “Gingerbread” by Helen Oyeyemi. A new title for the young adult is “The Me I Meant to Be” by Sophie Jordon.

“Drug Warrior: Inside the Hunt for El Chapo and the Rise of America’s Opioid Crisis” by Jack Riley is among new non-fiction along with “My Ranch, Too: A Wyoming Memoir” by Mary Budd Flitner and “Blum’s Farmer’s and Planters’ Almanac for 2019.”

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books, “Susan” by Kate Klimo, “Kristy’s Big Day” by Gale Galligan and “Silent, but Deadly” by Lincoln Peirce. Among the newer easy titles are “We are Unicorns” by Jennifer Fox, “Pop-Up Peekaboo! I Love You!” by Clare Lloyd, “Curious George Joins the Team” created by Margaret Rey and “How the Queen Found the Perfect Cup of Tea” by Kate Hosford.

“Fly Away To The Sun!” is the theme for Storyhour on April 30, 2019. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year. Call to hear a recorded story by dialing 307-334-3274. The Friends of the Library sponsor this storyline.
