Have you ordered your Krispy Kreme Doughnuts? The doughnuts are $9 for a dozen glazed and mixed frosted are $10. Call the library at 334-3490 or any library foundation member. Last day to order is Friday, May 3! Doughnuts will be available to pick up on Friday, May 10 at 7:30 a.m. at the library.

Heirloom garden seeds are available at the library! Come by and pick up some seeds for your garden; plan on saving some seeds after your harvest to return to the seed library. There are no fees for this gardening opportunity. Stop in today!

Are you an artist? The library is hosting an art show this summer for hanging media that celebrates “Libraries” and/or “1919” as part of the 100th anniversary of the Carnegie Library. Visit the library’s website, http://niobraracountylibrary.org for more information.

Mark Greaney’s latest novel is “Mission Critical.” Court Gentry’s flight on a CIA transport is shared with a mysterious passenger escorted by a security team. When the plane lands at an isolated airbase in the U.K., they are attacked by a hostile force that kidnaps the prisoner. Gentry, the sole survivor is ordered to track down the assassins and rescue the asset. In Virginia, the object of an attack on a CIA safe house is Zoya Zakharova, who escapes with a team of killers on her trail. Now two different agents on two different continents are battling against the impossible – but each may be holding the piece the other needs to fight their way out. “Mission Critical” is also available in Overdrive.

A new title in the young adult section is “Batman: the Court of Owls” by Greg Cox.

New non-fiction titles are “Cache Creek: a Trailside Guide to Jackson Hole’s Backyard Wilderness” by Susan Marsh, “Lost at Windy Corner: Lessons From Denali on Goals and Risks” by Aaron Linsdau and “What to Eat When: a Strategic Plan To Improve Your Health & Life Through Food” by Michael F. Roizen, M.D.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books “Tie-Dye Disaster” by Martha Maker, “I Survived the Battle of D-Day, 1944” by Lauren Tarshis and “The Fastest Finish” by Catherine Hapka. New easy titles include “Owls are Good at Keeping Secrets” by Sara O’Leary, “Harold Loves His Woolly Hat” by Vern Kousky, “Sleepover at the Museum” by Karen LeFrak, and “Stinker” by David Zeltser.

“Happy Mother’s Day!” is the theme for Storyhour on May 7, 2019. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year. Have you called Dial-A-Story? Dial 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story. Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
