The library will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2019 for Labor Day. Regular hours resume on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6. p.m.

During the month of September Natasha Doyle’s photography will be on display at the library. Doyle’s love for photography didn’t start until her late teen years after watching her artist cousin take pictures around their grandparent’s ranch. A reception with the artist will be held on Wednesday, September 4 at 5 p.m. Be sure to stop in and visit with Natasha and plan to visit this show throughout the month of September.

Celtic fingerstyle guitarist Jerry Barlow will be in concert on Sunday, September 8 at 1:30 p.m. Barlow’s current repertoire features many pieces that may be familiar to the audience and Barlow will fill in the history, legend and humor behind the music. This concert will be held at the Congregational Church. Library programs are free and open to the public.

“Wherever She Goes” is a new novel by Kelley Armstrong. Aubrey Finch saw a boy being taken against his will from the park, but no one has reported him missing. Instead people question her sanity. Aubrey hears the whispers - she doesn’t have primary custody of her daughter so something must be wrong with her. When the police refuse to believe her, she realizes that rescuing the boy is up to her, but how far is she willing to go?

Boggs, “Summer of ‘69” by Elin Hilderbrand, “Aunt Dimity and the Heart of Gold” by Nancy Atherton, “Tom Clancy Enemy Contact” by Mike Maden, “Wherever You Go” by Tracie Peterson, “The Orphan’s Song” by Lauren Kate, and “Knight of the Tiger” by W. Michael Farmer. A new young adult title is “A Land of Permanent Goodbyes” by Atia Abawi.

“Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties” by Tom O’Neill is among new non-fiction along with “Aloha Rodeo: Three Hawaiian Cowboys, the World’s Greatest Rodeo, and a Hidden History of the American West” by David Wolman, and “Everyday Millionaires: How Ordinary People Build Extraordinary Wealth and How You Can, Too” by Chris Hogan.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books “Finding Orion” by John Anderson, “Batting Order” by Mike Lupica and “Rocky Road Ahead” by Coco Simon. A few of the newer easy titles are “See Zip Zap” by David Milgrim, “The Berenstain Bears Respect Each Other” by Stan Berenstain, “Moana and Pua” by Melissa Lagonegro and “The Cook and the King” by Julia Donaldson.

“National Cheese Pizza Day!” will be featured during Storyhour on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool aged children. Call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story. Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
