Clarence Hubbard
Family and friends attended an Open House in memory of Clarence at 1514 South Elk in Casper on Nov. 20, 2004 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Clarence passed away at Poplar Living Center on Nov. 16, 2004 at the age of 84.
Clarence was born Feb, 25, 1920 in Page, Nebr. He is the son of Edmund and Mercedes Hubbard. He was one of 11 children and lived in Page, Nebr. until 1926.
His family moved north of Fort Laramie. He grew up on a dry land farm and graduated from Fort Laramie High School in 1939.
He served in World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the Army Air Corp. After returning home from service, he worked at the Rock Shop in Jay Em until 1946. Later he met Lily Kittelman at the Merry Whirl Ball Room in Lusk. They were married June 29, 1947 at Keeline. Clarence was baptized, confirmed and married in the Lutheran Faith all in the same day.
Their two son's were born; Paul in 1948 and Kenny in 1950.
While living in Lusk, Clarence worked at Wasson Chevrolet, Kilmer Creamery, and the Lusk Post Office.
They lived in Lusk until 1969 after both sons had graduated from high school and enlisted for Vietnam. Clarence and Lily then moved to Casper. In Casper, he worked for Neumann Transit and retired form Northern Utilities after fourteen years in 1989.
After retiring, he was a crossing guard for Willard Elementary for eight years. He loved talking to and helping children. Clarence loved telling stories, playing cards, dancing, and gardening. He also loved his animals.
Clarence was a lifetime member of the V. F. W. Post #991 and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #306 for 20 years, both located in Casper.
Clarence is survived by his wife Lily Hubbard of 57 years; two sons; Paul Hubbard and his wife Rita Hubbard of Casper and Kenny Hubbard and his wife Denise Hubbard of Thayne; two sisters; Alma Corb of McCook, Nebr. and Lottie Faith of Creighton, Nebr.; four grandchildren; Lacy Cattelan, Lonna Harvard, Matt Hubbard, and Elois Belving. He also had nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would appreciate any memorials to the Make a Wish Foundation, PO Box 273, Casper, Wyoming 82602 in honor of Jo-Lee Marie Hubbard great granddaughter of Clarence and Lily Hubbard.
