Grace L. Strait
Grace L. Strait was born September 12, 1917 at Chardon, Nebr. the daughter of Charles and Flora Simmons. She died July 5, 1983 at Torrington.
She grew up and attended schools in Chadron and worked in cafes.
On June 15, 1941, she was married to Clarence G. Strait at Chadron. They moved to Crawford, Nebr. following their marriage. In 1958, they moved to Lusk to make their home.
She was a member of the Baptist Church, the V.F.W. and Modern Matrons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence of Lusk; one son, Donald L. of Bridgeport, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Essie; one sister Lucille Fieldgrove, San Antonia, Texas; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held Saturday, July 9 at Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with Rev. Gilbert Moore officiating. Music was provided by organist, Edna DeCastro and soloist Norma Wilson who sang, "In The Garden" and "Beyond The Sunset."
Pallbearers were Johnnie Thon, Ray Taylor, George Dixon, Luther Penfield, Tom Rea and William Haworth.
Interment was in Lusk Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.
Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
