Remains of Late Vilna Hubbard Moved to Lusk
The remains of Mrs. Vilna Moritz, before her marriage Vilna Hubbard, formerly of Lusk, and that of her infant daughter, were disinterred at Edgerton this week, being removed and re-buried in the Lusk cemetery, in the Hubbard family plot.
The removal was made by George Earl Peet, of the Peet Mortuary, assisted by Frank Combs, sexton of the Lusk cemetery.
Mrs. Moritz died at Edgerton in April, 1927, of diphtheria, and the state law prohibited the removal until a lapse of two years. The baby died in August, 1926. Mr. Peet and Mr. Combs made the trip to Edgerton Tuesday, making the round trip and completing the task the same day.
Mrs. Moritz was the daughter of Joe Hubbard, formerly of Lusk, but now of Alaska. Her brother, Percy Hubbard, also of Alaska, made arrangements for the removal while here this winter.
