NIOBRARA COUNTY RESIDENT PASSES AWAY SATURDAY
MRS. A.J. ANDERSON SUCCUMBS JUNE 26 AFTER ILLNESS OF ONE WEEK
Funeral Services are Held Monday Afternoon; Remains Placed in Lusk Cemetery
Another of Wyoming's oldest residents answered the call of the Grim Reaper, when at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, June 26, Mrs. Lottie Lehmer Anderson passed away at the ranch home, twenty miles north of Lusk, follwing an illness of one week. Mrs. Anderson was known to many residents of this state, having been born here and living in Wyoming most of her life. Her friends were many and all will mourn her death.
Lottie Lehmer was born in Cheyenne August 25, 1874, and died June 26, 1926, at the age of 51 years, 10 months and 1 day.
She resided with her parents at Sherman, Wyo., until at the age of 15 years, when she went ot live with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Jan Hailey at Rapid City, S. Dak. It was while living there that she obtained her education. She remained in Rapid City until in 1904, when she was married to Andrew J. Anderson at Cheyenne on September 25th. Her home in Niobrara county covers a period of many years.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband and two sons, John Stephen and Gaylord Anderson of Lusk, Wyo.; four sisters, Mrs. Louis T. Bennett of Ft. DeCheyne, Utah; Mrs. Minnie Webaire and Mrs. R. J. Farrell, both of Buford, Wyo.; and Mrs. Frances Riggs of Chugwater, Wyo.; and two brothers, R. N. Lehmer and Charles Lehmer, both of Buford, Wyo. Her parents, one brother and one sister preceded her in death several years ago.
Funeral services were held at the ranch home Monday afternoon, June 28th, and also at the Community church and were in charge of Rev. H. H. Kounts of the Community church. The ceremony at the grave was in charge of Lusk Rebekah lodge No. 12, of which Mrs. Anderson was a member.
The Herald-Standard joins in extending heartfelt sympathies to those who are saddened by this passing.
