Life resident dies

Clara Frances Hourt, life resident of Harrison, died at the family home unexpectedly last Thursday. Funeral mass was recited here Monday, April 2, at Church of Nativity.

Frances, as she was commonly known, was born Oct. 19, 1907 in Harrison to Katherine Zurn and Joseph Leopold DeBock, and was raised on her grandparents' homestead at the head of Hat Creek in Sioux County.

Frances and Nicholas Alfonsi Hourt were married on July 23, 1930. They were the parents of nine children and spent all of their married life in and around Harrison. He preceded her in death.

"Frances was a hard working woman and a loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She had a deep faith in God and was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar Society and was president several times. Frances was known for the kind things she did for everyone and will be terribly missed, not only by her family, but by the townspeople that had known and loved her so well," said a member of the family eulogizing Mrs. Hourt.

Father F. Hartgarten officiated at the Monday morning service. Pallbearers were grandsons of Mrs. Hourt, Kenny and Skipper Dunn and Mike Anderson of Harrison, Chuch, Roy and Ronnye Parmely of Casper, Wyo.

Survivors include her daughters-Betty Morava, Ulysses, Kans., Cathryn Ross, Columbia Falls, Mont., Margaret Dunn, Harrison, Arlene Parmely, Casper, Marlene Anderson, rural Sioux County, Linda Fenster, Kent, Wash,: and sons Henry, Medicine Bow, Wyo., Joe of Crawford and Pat of Harrison.

Surviving sisters of Mrs. Hourt are Rose Houx of Harrison, Sister David Marie of Loop City, Neb., Florence Stetson of Boulder, Colo., and Grace Valencia of Redondo Beach, Calif.

A memorial has be established to the Diabetic Association.
