Anna Kidder Dawson

Anna Kidder Dawson died in Lusk Feb. 12, 1997. Graveside services were at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver Feb. 18, following a Feb. 14 visitation.

She was born April 3, 1899, in Central City, Neb., to Harry L. and Selina Mills Kidder. She attended school in Omaha, Neb., and Sunrise. The family moved to Wyoming about 1915, where they engaged in farming. In 1921, she married C. B. Dawson, a native of Clay, W. V., in Casper.

In 1927 the Dawsons moved to Cody, where he operated a plumbing and heating business. She was a member of the Rebeccas, Royal Neighbors and was especially involved with the American Legion Auxiliary, becoming department president in 1945.

About 1951, they sold their Cody business and moved to Denver. In 1956-57 they moved to Manville, where they purchased the grocery store. He died in 1965, but she operated the store in 1975 when she moved to Lusk, living alone except for some winters she spent with her two daughters and the last six years which she spent in the Niobrara County Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter Betty Learned.

Survivor include daughter Dorothy Harris of Flower Mound, Texas; four grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
