Harry Junior (JR) Smith

Harry Junior "JR" Smith, age 60, of Lusk passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18 in Casper. A funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk with Pastor Jason Playle officiating.

JR was born on Jan. 15, 1945 in Bridgewater, S. D., the son of Harry Smith Jr. and Mary Ann Walters Smith. He grew up and went to school in the Bridgewater area.

In the early 1960's he went to work as a track laborer/welder's helper, which began a lifelong love of the railroad system, especially the upkeep and repair of the trackline. He last worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad, out of Lusk, before he had to quit in 1989.
He was united in marriage to Judy Haworth of Lusk on Aug. 23, 2000.
He is survived by his wife Judy of Lusk; one sister, Judy of Sioux Falls, S. D.; special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother George.
For those who wish, donations to the Niobrara Health and Life Center in Lusk, Wyo., would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
