Ida Sedgwick Foley

Graveside services for Ida Sedgwick Foley, age 86, were conducted Tuesday, May 10, at the Lusk Cemetery by Rev. Mark Lohr. Cremation has taken place.

Ida Foley died May 7, at Michael Manor in Douglas.

She was born March 17, 1908, at Grover, Colo., to Anthony W. Sedgwick and Pauline Dorothy Thompson. In 1909, she moved with parents to the Cheyenne River area in Wyoming to the Sedgwick Ranch. She attended rural school in the Cheyenne River area and also attended school in Grover, Colo. She resided on the family ranch until she married.

On July 8, 1925, she married Everett M. Smith in Harrison, Neb. They lived on a ranch in Wyoming. She was Secretary of the Cheyenne River Extension Club for many years.

In 1969 she married T. O. Foley in Lander, Wyo. She was a member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary in Riverton and Jackson, Wyo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Francis Sedgwick, and granddaughter Nancy Lee Wade.

Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Leeling of Lusk, Wyo.; Marjorie Hollon of Douglas, Wyo.; Joan Harrington of Sheridan, Wyo.; one son Raymond Smith of Manville, Wyo.; one brother Leonard "Bus" Sedgwick of Newcastle, Wyo.; one sister Pauline Marchant of Newcastle, Wyo.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Bader Funeral Home in Lusk and Converse Funeral Home in Douglas were in charge of the arrangements.
