Graveside Service held Here for Mary Gladson

Funeral service was held in the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington July 25 at 9:30 a.m. for Mary Gladson, 74, a former resident of Lusk. She died suddenly of an apparent heart attack at the home of her son Virgil Gladson in Torrington July 22. The Rev. Sherman Crandall officiated at the funeral, and graveside service was held in the Lusk Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.

Mary Katherine Gladson was born May 9, 1901, in Custer County, Neb. the daughter of John and Jane Brong Tyson. She grew up and went to school in Custer County. She married James Gladson at Brewster, Neb. February 8, 1919. The family moved to Lusk in 1941. Mrs. Gladson was employed a cook at several restaurants in Lusk for many years, moving to Torrington in 1969. She was a member of the American War Mothers in Lusk.

She is survived by a son Virgil Gladson of Torrington; daughters, Mrs. Sadie Bartow of Torrington and Mrs. Doloris Hayes of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Harry Tyson, Grand Island, Neb.; sisters Mrs. Effie Farley of Kearney, Neb., and Mrs. Ellen Clang Merna, Neb.; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965, three sons, three daughters, three brothers and four sisters.
