Mrs. Hargraves Dies at Age 93
Mrs. Blanche M. Hargraves, 93, resident of Niobrara County since 1902, died Friday at Thermopolis where for the past eight months she has resided at the Wyoming Pioneer Home.
Funeral services were held at the Peet Mortuary in Lusk on Monday afternoon at 2:00 with the Rev. Fred Bolinger, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Eastern Star rites were also conducted at the mortuary, and interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Johnnie Thon, Walter Fernau, Wm. A. Taylor, Paul Morgan, L. T. Bonner, and Clyde Blackmore. Honorary bearers were Harry Fernau Sr., C. E. Marvin, A. F. DeCastro, George Earl Peet, Roy Chamberlain, Menno Kaan and Fred Hansen. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro was organist.
Mrs. Hargraves was born July 22, 1875, at Ogdensburg, Wis., the daughter of Lorenzo Dow and Fanny Moses. She was a graduate of the Conservatory of Music at Ripon, Wis. She married Harry B. Hargraves on December 2, 1902 at the Badger Sheep Ranch in the Rawhide Buttes area and has lived in Niobrara County since, for many years in Lusk.
She was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Baptist Church of Lusk.
She is survived by three sons, Robert of Worland, Lyman and Gordon of Casper; two grandchildren, Bruce Lynn in the U.S. Navy stationed at San Diego, Calif., and DeAnn Louise Nelson, Kingsville, Texas; and one great-grandchild, Wyndi Nelson.
Her husband and two brothers, Guy and Fred Moses, died previously as did one son Donald in infancy.
