Art Ferris Buried Saturday in Lusk

Funeral services for Arthur Preston Ferris, 61, who died last Wednesday, were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The Peet Mortuary of Lusk conducted services. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

The Rev. Fred Schuett of St. Paul's Evangelical Church of Lusk officiated.

Mrs. J. P. Watson rendered organ music and accompanied Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Dean Glandt as they sang "Rock of Ages" and "Abide with Me."

Casket bearers were Clarence Patton, Fred Sheaman, Floyd McCleery, Alvin Alexander, Clifford Parmely and Sven Johnson.

Mr. Ferris was born April 7, 1907, at Neligh, Nebr., to Peter and Anna Ferris. He was educated and grew to manhood in Nebraska.

He married Gladys Walts in 1926 at Oshkosh, Nebr. in 1936 they moved to Hat Creek and in 1941 the family moved to Manville where they have since resided.

Mr. Ferris was employed for many years in the Lance Creek oil fields. He served on the town board as a councilman since last September.

He is survived by his widow Gladys of Manville; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Johnson of Phoenix; Mrs. Mary Tschacher of Manville; four sons, Clifford of Lusk; James of Newcastle; Billy of National City , Calif.; Lawrence of Torrington; one sister, four brothers, 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, one sister, four brothers and two children, Carol Ann and Robert died previously.
