Ila Mae Johnson

Ila Mae Johnson, 77, of Manville, died May 3 at her home. The funeral service was held Saturday, May 6, 2 p.m. at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds with Pastor Mark Lohr officiating. Interment followed at the Dellview Cemetery near Manville.

Ila was born July 18, 1928, in Manville at the family home of Fred and Frankie (Grammar) Kettler.

She was educated at the Manville School. She graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1946. She helped her father at his garage while he farmed. She worked at a restaurant in the Lance Creek oil field and also served as part-time postmaster in Manville. Ila liked to garden, sew and do crafts.

On Oct. 4, 1946, she married Sven A. Johnson. They made their home in Manville.

Her parents, Fred and Frankie Kettler, her sister, Ferne Dielman and her brother Jack Kettler, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Sven; two sons, Ronnie A. Johnson (Sherry) of Homer, Alaska and Monte Johnson of Casper; four grandchildren, Tabitha Johnson, Eric Johnson, Jana Coons and Miles Johnson; a great granddaughter, Lydia Coons; her sister, Joye Ray of Belt, Mont., and her brother, Freddie Kettler of Emmett, Idaho.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
