Earl Ramond Heckert was born February 16, 1891, in Crestline, Ohio. He and Miss Emma Miller were married in December 1916 in Reading, Minn. The young couple left that month for Wyoming and have resided here ever since. Mr. Heckert was an oil and water well driller. The number of wells he drilled in this area must have numbered in the hundreds. During the past 12 years Mr. Heckert was engaged in drilling water wells in South Dakota. Despite the fact that Heckerts were gone during the summer months, they always returned to Lusk to spend the winter.

Besides his widow Mr. Heckert is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Scaefer of Harrison and a son, Burdette of Minatare, Neb.; five brothers, Walter, Crestline, Ohio, Rolo, Tucson, Ariz., Wayne, Douglas, Ray, Sturgis, S. Da., Charles, St. Paul, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Martin, Van Tassell, Mrs. Gladys Michael, Beverton, Ore. Three brothers die previously.
