Mary Heckert Dies, Funeral Held Saturday

Funeral service was held for Mrs. Mary Emily Heckert, 77, Saturday, Jan. 15 at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Heckert died January 13.

The Reverend Allen Page officiated at the service with Mrs. J. P. Watson as organist and Russell Olmsted, soloist, singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset". Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Art Verick, Joe Pfister, Frank Hanson, Malcomb Hammer, Nels Engebretsen, and Charles Schaefer.

Mary Emily Heckert was born in Primghar, Iowa, April 1, 1895. She married Earl Raymond Heckert at Reading, Minn., Dec. 18, 1916. In her earlier years she lived in Iowa and Minnesota. After her marriage she came to Wyoming and later lived in Harrison, Neb., for a short period of time. In 1939 the family moved to Lusk where she resided until her death.

Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Leonard (Dorothy) Schaefer, Harrison; a son Burdette Heckert, Pavillion, Wyo.; a sister Eva Gillies, Seattle, Wash.; a brother Hugh Miller, Rapid City, S. D., ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family request that memorials go to the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital.
