Service this Thursday for Walter Hitz

Walter O. Hitz, a resident of Niobrara County for over 70 years, died Friday at the Veteran's Hospital at Hot Springs, S.D. after a short illness. Funeral service was being held this Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 at Peet Chapel.

Walter Otto Hitz was born at Hosmer, S. D., May 13, 1899 to Christofher Herman and Marie Bolt Hitz. He came to Wyoming with his parents when a small child and grew to young manhood on a ranch five miles northeast of Lusk.

When his brother retired, Walter took over the business until his retirement in 1969. In 1974 he sold the ranch and moved to Lusk.

The Rev. Robert Boutwell is conducting the funeral. Minerva Watson is organist, and Mark Lohr is singing "Beyond the Sunset", "God Be With You Till We Meet Again" and "Let the Lower Lights Be Burning".

Honorary bearers are Judson P. Watson, Joe O'Brien, Ernest Hansen, Robert Scott, Gilbert Brinckerhoff and Jim McAllister.

Hitz is survived by a sister Margaret Haight of Lusk.
