Maynard Harley Hoy

Graveside service for Maynard Hoy, former Lusk resident, was held at the Lusk Cemetery last Saturday, July 25, with the Rev. Frank Bozart officiating. Hoy died in a north Las Vegas hospital July 21.

Maynard Harley Hoy was born to Waldo Harley Hoy and Grace Waddell Hoy at Dakota City, Neb., November 28, 1911. He moved to Wyoming with his parents in 1915 when they homesteaded in the Rawhide Buttes area. He lived in this area until 1948 when he moved to Thermopolis to operate a bowling alley. He was involved in this business there and in Worland and Edgerton until he retired in 1974. He moved to Las Vegas in 1977.

He is survived by his wife Rose, daughter Susan Paananen, Selitz, Ore., stepchildren Gary Nelson of Wickenburg, Ariz., Gerald Nelson of Loveland, Colo., and Mary Ann Herzog of Flagler, Colo.; brother Harold of Sacramento, Calif., Albert Spokane, Wash.; Richard of Gillette; Wayne of Parker , Colo.; Dale of Mitchell, Neb.; sister Wyoma Hoy of Tulare, Calif., Alyce Bonner of Lusk, Oneita Simenson of Grafton, N.D. and Lola Darnall of Gillette.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Lester.
