Erma Irene Parmely Tschacher Cox

Erma Cox passed away on May 13, at a Residential Care Center in Boise, Idaho. Erma was born on March 20, 1917 in South Dakota and moved at a young age to Wyoming, spending her early years in the Keeline/Jireh area. She was one of six children of Claude and Sylvia Parmely of Lusk.

Erma graduated from Lusk High School with the class of 1935. On July 25, 1935 in Hot Springs, S.D., she married Lewis Tschacher of Lusk. In the late 30's, they moved to the Wendell, Idaho area where they farmed for several years and had two sons, Floyd born in 1937 and Darell born in 1945. In 1948 the family moved back to Wyoming and purchased a ranch southwest of Lusk, where they remained until the late 1970's. Erma retired as the office manager of the Niobrara Electric Association in July of 1976 after many years of faithful service. Retirement years were spent traveling and enjoyed living in Arizona during the winters. Her husband Lewis passed away July 24, 1978.

On September 2, 1981, Erma married Glen "Clifford" Cox of Lusk. They traveled for many years and enjoyed their homes in St. George, Utah; Torrington, and Chadron, Neb. until Cliff's death on November 2, 2001. In mid-2002 Erma moved to Boise, Idaho, near her children and became a resident of Chateau De Boise Retirement Center where she lived independently until her illness in early 2004. As always, she made many new friends and especially enjoyed the card games.

Erma is survived by her sons Floyd Tschacher and wife Donna and Darell Tschacher and wife Judie, all of Boise, Idaho. She always enjoyed her grandchildren Randal Tschacher and wife Patricia; Tamee Tschacher Young and husband Scott; Kendall Tschacher and wife Melissa; Krystin Tschacher Leonhardt and husband Jeff. Great-grandchildren include Dawn McDaniel; Ryan Young and wife Ciana; Aubree Young and Allee Young; Brandon Tschacher; Libby Leonhardt and Abby Tschacher. Erma is also survived by her brother Glen Parmely and wife Donna of Lusk. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, four brothers and sisters, as well as her parents.

Erma's family and friends gather to celebrate her 87 wonderful years of life on earth at a graveside service at the Lusk Cemetery in Lusk, at 1:30 p.m. on May 20. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations are made as a memorial to Erma to Niobrara Senior Center, PO Box 928, Lusk, WY 82225.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home of Lusk is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
