Brother of Mrs. Martin Dies in Ore.

Ralph William James, 66, of Fossil, Ore., brother of Mrs. Virgil Martin of Lusk, died at his home Monday, May 25. Funeral services will be held this Thursday at Fossil.

He was the son of William and Augusta Heumier James, born April 25, 1904 at Crawford, Neb. When still young he quit school and went to work on the George Swanson ranch near Crawford, where he worked until 1930. That same year, he and his brother Clarence went to Bridal Veil, Ore., where he worked for a number of years in a saw mill. Later he went to work as a logger and worked at this trade until 1969. He was working on a ranch in Fossil at the time of his death.

He married Mayona Emmett, March 24, 1942. They were the parents of two sons, Jessie D. and David W.

He served in the U. S. Army in World War II. He was affiliated with the Lutheran Church of Fossil.

His son Jessie and parents died previously.

Survivors include his widow, Mayona of the family home; one son, David of Portland, Ore.; five sisters, Florence Clark, Gertrude Pederson, Mabel Morice, all of Gering, Neb.; Ann Martin of Lusk and his twin sister, Rella Elyward of Denver; three brothers, Clarence of Tuscan, Ariz.; Rollin of Council, Idaho and Levi of Mittchel, Neb.; one granddaughter, Tena Marie James, one uncle, Charles Heumier of Lusk; two aunts, Anna Virtue of Buckley, Wash., and Minnie Berger of Oshoto, Wyo.
