Bill Jassman Dies Here Sat.

William Jassman, 53, a life long resident of Niobrara County, died at the Spencer Hospital in Lusk early Saturday morning from the infirmities brought on by multiple sclerosis.

Mr. Jassman had been afflicted by the disease many years ago and his condition became more severe in recent years. He had been a patient in the Spencer Hospital for the past six months.

Orval Prather, minister of the Lusk Church of Christ, officiated at the Tuesday Afternoon funeral services held from the Peet Chapel. Mrs. Dale M. Bardo was organist and Mrs. Ramie Fosher and Mrs. Hobart Cockerham sang, "Mansion Over the Hilltop" and "Beyond the Sunset."

Casketbearers, all nephews of Mr. Jassman were: George Jugler, Jim Jugler, Gene Jugler, Jerry Jassman, David Jassman and Jack Anderson.

Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

He was born on the family homestead 12 miles northeast of Lusk to John George and Amelia Bucholz Jassman on December 27, 1909. He received his education in the Niobrara rural schools.

He and Maxine Burkholder were married February 10, 1934. They were the parents of two sons and a daughter.

For 13 years Mr. Jassman was employed by the Illinois Pipeline Company. Ten of those years were spent in the Lance Creek oil field and three near Greybull, Wyo.

Later he worked the family homestead northeast of Lusk.

Surviving are his wife, Maxine; two sons, Robert of Eugene, Ore. and Richard of Lusk.; one daughter, Mrs. Dwight Pomeroy of Lusk; his mother, Mrs. Amelia Jassman of Lusk; three brothers, Harold of Casper, Chris and John both of Lusk; four sisters, Elsie Bucholz of Hendrick Minn., Sophia Klemke, Kathryn Jugler and Emelia Anderson all of Lusk; numerous nieces and nephews.
