Amelia Jassmann Dies; Service in Lusk Monday

Funeral service for Mrs. Amelia Jassmann, 89, was held at the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Jassmann died Thursday at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

The Rev. Fred Bolinger conducted the service with Russell Olmsted, soloist singing, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Nearer My God to Thee." Mrs. A. F. DeCastro was organist. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Rulo Roberts, Levern James, Carl Bruch, C. E. Marvin, Art Thompson and Roy Turnbull.

The casket bearers were all grandsons of Mrs. Jassmann- Harvey Buckholz, Hendricks, Minn., James Jugler, Ranchester, Wyo.; Jack Anderson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; David Jassman, Lusk; Jerry Jassman, Lusk; and Richard Jassman, Lusk.

Elilia Buckholtz Jassmann was born at Tripp, S.D. December 14, 1882. She was the daughter of William and Lenora Buckholz. She married John George Jassmann in January 1905. The couple were the parents of four sons and four daughters.

In 1909 Mr. and Mrs. Jassmann moved to Harrison and the following year came to Wyoming where they homesteaded in the Divide Community. They were engaged in farming and ranching there until 1945 when Mr. Jassmann's health made it necessary for them to move to Lusk. Mr. Jassmann died in 1949.

Survivors are Christian Jassman, Lusk; John Jassman, Lusk; Harold Jassman, Casper; Mrs. Elsie Buckholz, Hendricks, Minn. Mrs. Sophia Klemke, Lusk, Mrs. Katherine Jugler, Lusk and Mrs. Amelia Anderson, Hat Creek. One son William Jassman died in August 1963.

There are 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Meidinger, Long Lake, S. D., Mrs. Dora Brandt, Minneapolis, Minn. and Mrs. Pauline Giedd, Avon, S.D.

Mrs. Jassmann was a member of the Baptist Church of Lusk being baptized in that faith in April 1938.

The Jassman family name was originally spelled with double nn, but the younger generation has dropped one n, and spell it Jassman.
