Joe Jones

Joe Jones, a former Lusk resident, passed away in Yuma, Ariz., on Monday, March 22, 1993. A complete obituary will follow.

Jones lived and worked in Lusk for many years.

Services for Joseph N. Jones were conducted at 2 p.m. on March 26 at Sunset Vista Funeral Home in Yuma, Ariz. Officiant was Pastor Darrell Lloyd of Desert Springs Church of the Nazarene. Interment was in Sunset Vista Cemetery in Yuma.

Jones died March 22, 1993 at Yuma Regional Medical Center. He was born March 3, 1908, in Walnut Ridge, Ark.

On Dec. 14, 1931, he married Loretta Faye Milnes and they made their home in Torrington, Wyo. where he worked for Holly Sugar Corp.

In 1940 the family moved to Lusk, where he was self employed in various businesses until his retirement.

Jones was elected mayor of Lusk in 1956 and reelected, serving through 1962.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta, of Yuma; sons Max of Casper and Robert of Salem. Ore.; daughters, Maxine Larson of Yuma and Erma Grubb of Buffalo, Wyo.; a brother, Willard Jones of Spearfish, S. D., 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
